3 questions for...

Alexander Hinz
Managing Director
Collect Car B.V. - Greenwheels GmbH

What was the most important change for Greenwheels and its strategy after being acquired by Volkswagen?

(Source: Greenwheels)

Greenwheels was fully taken-over by a joint venture of Volkswagen Financial Services AG and Pon Holding in 2015. Since then the shareholder support us in setting out the route for sustainable growth in the future, transforming the company’s carsharing offer into an ever more natural part of the mobility mix of private and business customer.

Greenwheels is an international operating company. Do you see any differences in your relationship with local authorities between the countries in which you are operating?

We see in the Netherlands quite some focus on integrating different modes of transportation in order to provide the most cost- and resource-efficient solution for travellers. This is not only true to public entities, but also private companies start to build a business on the already quite advanced national integration of public transport and solutions as car and bike sharing.

(Source: Greenwheels)

Recently you launched some important new features. What has been the customer reaction? What is your most important management task in the next 12 months?

We offer a completely new App, to support our new Dutch pricing by a state-of-the-art sign up flow and user experience. By that way offering a “fast track” joining to take advantage of more customized pricing, we could increase our customer base by over 20% this year already. Continuously improving the user experience and communicating it the right way will make people try-out carsharing and understand its benefit for their day-to-day life.
