Carsharing captures Vienna (Austria)
Carsharing in Vienna is more and more popular. The city has now more than 100,000 frequent users of carsharing and about 1,300 vehicles of different carsharing operators. These and other interesting figures emerge from a study that was commissioned by the City of Vienna and presented last week.

ReachNow boasts 13,000 Seattle members in first month (USA)
BMW's ReachNow carsharing service seems to be a hit in Seattle, at least according to a last week news release boasting more than 13,000 members since the company launched in the city a month ago. The company also announced its executive team, which will be based at ReachNow's Seattle headquarters.

Seoul expands carsharing network (South Korea)
The Seoul city government has launched the second stage of carsharing network aimed at expanding the number of vehicles and use of electric cars in the city. The project named Nanum-Car service will be operated under a partnership with four local carsharing companies.

car2go expanding beyond the Smart Fortwo vehicle (Germany)
After the pilot program launched last September in Canada, car2go has now announced it will introduce four-door Mercedes A and B-class vehicles to its fleet in Germany. 300 new vehicles will be available from mid-July in Berlin, other cities will follow soon.

City of Sydney to update its carsharing policy (Australia)
The growth of carsharing in Sydney has outstripped council expectation. Major changes of the new carsharing policy will include a new administration fee and minimum-use requirements for parking spaces.

Montreal moves forward with electric car charging stations (Canada)
Montreal is pushing ahead with its plan to install 1,000 charging stations for electic cars by 2020, but the plan is making a lot of people upset. The city is also tying its support for electric chargers to the carsharing companies that already operate in Montreal, car2go and Communauto, and wants to see them electrify their fleets.

car2go exceeded its forecasts in Madrid (Spain)
car2go has now more than 53,000 registered users in the capital of Spain and it has expanded the fleet to 500 vehicles. The company is evaluating opportunities in other major Spanish cities.

Share'Ngo to expand its EV fleet (Italy)
After one year of operations and with more than 20,000 users, Share'Ngo is about to expand its fleet of electric microcars. The e-carsharing company operating in Milan, Florence and Rome will add 500 new vehicles to its fleet.

Carsharing vehicles accessible for people with disabilities (Italy and Australia)
Accessing appropriate transport is a challenge felt widely in the disability community. Carsharing operators from different parts of the world are now providing solutions: the carsharing service in Palermo (Italy) offers now four vehicles with steering wheel control, while GoGet launched its first wheelchair accessible vehicle a month ago in Australia.

DriveNow has launched the UK’s first convertible carsharing fleet (UK)
DriveNow, the carsharing joint venture of the BMW Group and SIXT, has launched what it claims to be the UK’s first convertible carsharing fleet. A total of 40 MINI Cooper Convertibles are being made available on the scheme on North and East London.
